we were lucky enough to be shown around this fascinating historical site by the curator. For a council run historical site that is FREE it packs an amazing amount of history into a small site! The exhibits are a great mix of personal stories, artifacts donated by locals, and broader historical context. Leave them a donation so they can do more fine work! We also took the hour long tunnel tour which was a bargain at $12. There are amazing views from the top & if guns are your thing they fire one at 1pm (13:00) ever day that they are open!

We had a great BHP reunion with a smorgasbord lunch. The fort is an import historical building in Newcastle and well worth a visit.
